The Story Behind Kena Collective
KENA COLLECTIVE
Born from a simple question: what comes next?
Our youngest left for college and the house went still. Not painfully, we had loved every chapter. But in that quiet,
were consistent questions Move? Downsize? Start over? We were too young to retire, too restless to wait for the holidays, too curious to let the next twenty years look like the last twenty.
Â
None of it was quite right. We had visited nearly every corner of this country, but we had only ever truly lived in the Midwest and visiting a place and living there are not the same thing.
Â
Remote work had untethered us from the office. An empty nest had untethered us from the school calendar. For the first time, we were free to choose not just where we lived, but how.Â
Â
I went looking for a model that offered the comfort of home without the routine, and the thrill of discovery without the transience of being a guest. It didn't exist so I built it.
Â
Kena Collective is a private circle of three remarkable, vetted homes, four months in each, one full year of living differently. Not a rental. Not a swap. Something entirely new, built by someone who spent twenty-one years creating things the world needed but didn't yet have.
THE FOUNDER
Kena Collective was founded by Kimberly — based in the Midwest, with twenty-one years of industry innovation in the Consumer Products Goods space. Kena Collective is the most personal thing she has ever built. It is also, she believes, the most necessary.
